Arizona Veterans' Donation Fund
Since
1999, the Arizona Veterans Donation Fund has helped fund
programs to benefit veterans and their families
throughout our state. Arizona State law specifies that
tax-deductible donations in this account can never
revert to the State General Fund, and the assets in the
account can only be used to benefit the veterans of the
State of Arizona.
-
By investing $560,000
from the Donation Fund, an additional $1.6 million
of federal funds were obtained to renovate the
resident's dining rooms and the kitchen at the
Arizona State Veteran Home.
-
Children’s furniture and computer equipment were
provided to the Military Veterans’ Hospitality Room
at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport for active military
and veterans who are traveling to, from, or through
Phoenix.
-
Unsheltered and
homeless veterans can find support through statewide
Stand Downs (most recently Yuma, Prescott, Tucson,
and Phoenix).
-
Formerly homeless
veterans are provided the means to transition to
permanent housing through a partnership with USVets.
-
Construction of the
Armed Forces Memorial Park in Yuma was completed
through a matching funds program from the Veterans
Donation Fund; and repairs were made to monuments at
the State Capitol that pay tribute to Arizona's
heroes – our veterans.
-
Matching funds
provided carillons at the Arizona National Memorial
Cemetery and the Arizona State Veterans Cemetery in
Sierra Vista.
-
Also consider taking
advantage of a newly enacted tax credit for
Military Family
Relief Fund (MFRF)
